Join the Utah Nonprofits Association and nonprofit organizations to demonstrate the vital impact that nonprofits make in Utah’s communities. This event is an unprecedented opportunity to learn how to effectively advocate your organization’s mission to state and local policy makers. You will be led through the process by an experienced Government Relations lobbyist and supported by a team of UNA representatives to identify, approach and inform your legislators about the critical programs your organization provides to their constituents. Whether you are a novice or a seasoned advocate, help increase the visibility of Utah’s powerful nonprofit sector. Don’t miss this valuable event that happens once a year!
At this event, you will:
Speak face-to-face with your legislators
Receive expert support and guidance from experienced lobbyist, Jayceen Craven Walker, Government Relations & Advocacy specialist from Pathway Associates
Gain valuable experience advocating your mission
Educate policy makers and the public about the issues that affect your clients and causes
Increase the visibility of the nonprofit sector as a whole

Participant Information & Schedule Speaking with your legislator: Please prepare a short 90 second "elevator speech" for your legislators. Create a 1-page fact sheet to hand to your legislator - bring plenty of copies! Click here for a talking-point and fact sheet guide. Remember, there will be UNA representatives that will guide you through the process of speaking with your legislator.
Tabling in the Rotunda: As a participating organization, you will get a 3'x6' table, two chairs for your organization's representatives, and a tablecloth. Tabling takes place in the Rotunda between 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Set-up for the day begins at 8:00 a.m. Please bring appropriate visual materials such as brochures, flyers, signs etc. to pass out. Legislators are invited to visit nonprofit tables in Rotunda during this time. 2:30 p.m. – Break down & leave

Jayceen Craven Walker assists clients of Pathway Associates to create and implement comprehensive government relations strategies that address both immediate needs and long term goals. She has worked with Utah nonprofit groups and government organizations for over 19 years. Jayceen expertly navigates the complexities of State and Federal government, including rural regulatory agencies, county councils, State legislature and Federal Representation. She also has extensive experience in planning and executing educational program development and outreach, while securing community-wide support for these programs. Jayceen received an associate's degree from the College of Eastern Utah, which recently named her a distinguished alumnus, and a bachelor's degree from Southern Utah University. She is also an accomplished actress, having worked with the Utah Shakespeare Festival and the Great American Melodrama in California. She has often performed with the Salt Lake Acting Company, The Grand Theatre, Park City Performance, and Plan B Theatre, as well as in commercials, television, films and voice over work. Jayceen currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Utah Museum Association, the Utah Cultural Alliance and the Mary G. Steiner Egyptian Theater in Park City.
