UNA Public Policy Advances Nonprofits
UNA's public policy efforts center on protecting the rights and benefits of Utah’s over 12,000 nonprofits and supporting and amplifying their advocacy efforts. We believe that our missions are interconnected and that nonprofits can and should unite to advocate for legislation that supports our communities.
Our policy goals center on
- Promoting a strong nonprofit sector
- Expanding public awareness of issues that affect nonprofit organizations in Utah
- Increasing financial support from the public and private sectors
- Ensuring public policies are inclusive and equitable for all nonprofits
- Building relationships and enhance communication with UNA members, elected officials, and the public
Our Policy Work: Preserving Public Trust in our Sector
UNA advocates on public policy issues that affect Utah's nonprofit sector. We work with the the Utah Legislature, our state's federally elected officials, as well as state and federal agencies to develop laws and policies that
- Save nonprofits time and money
- Help nonprofits operate more effectively, and
- Preserve the public’s trust in Utah’s nonprofit sector.
We mobilize nonprofits of all missions and budgets to join our advocacy efforts.
