You’ve Got the Answers We’re Looking For!

The 2026 Nonprofit Compensation and Benefits Survey is open! Your input helps build a stronger, more equitable nonprofit sector across Utah and the western region. It only takes about 30–45 minutes, and you can pause anytime (no being glued to your computer 😄). One person per organization, usually your Executive Director or HR lead, should complete the survey by November 14.

By completing the survey, you’ll:

  • Get the full report free as a UNA member
  • Access real data on salaries, benefits, and trends
  • Strengthen equity and retention across the sector

Tools You Can Use

Very Mindful, Very Demure: Applying for Grants and Funding

Before you hit “submit” on that next grant application, take a moment to double-check the details. Review the wording carefully to ensure your organization is fully in compliance with all requirements. And don’t stop there! Dig a little deeper to understand where the funding actually comes from. Even if a grant appears to be from a state source, it may be tied to federal dollars, which can come with additional rules and reporting expectations. A little extra mindfulness now can save a lot of headaches later!

Travel Made Simple, and Meaningful

With Engine, you can book hotels, flights, and rental cars all in one place—saving time, cutting costs, and unlocking exclusive rates. Even better? Every trip you take through Engine helps support Utah’s nonprofits. That means when you book your next conference, site visit, or weekend getaway, portion of proceeds from your reservation directly supports Utah nonprofits, helping strengthen the organizations that keep our communities thriving. Travel doesn’t just get you where you’re going—it gives back to the community you care about. Do You Serve New Americans in the Salt Lake Area?

The Future Citizens PATH program is a pilot open to eligible folks (green card holders) who live within Salt Lake City limits and seek support with the U.S. citizenship process. This free program aims to make the naturalization process more accessible by providing legal help throughout the application process, grants to cover the application fee and citizenship classes. Contact newamericans@slc.gov for additional resources, including program flyers in Spanish, Somali, Chinese, and Arabic.

2nd Annual Good4Utah Family Health Fair

ABC4-CW30 and Good Things Utah are gearing up for their 2nd Annual Good4Utah Family Health Fair on Saturday, October 18, 2025 - hosted in their beautiful Good4Utah Backyard just outside their Salt Lake City Studio. The event will run from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with a blood donation drive hosted by The Red Cross from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

This year's presenting sponsor is Solis Mammography – very fitting for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Health Fair is free to participate and free to attend. Attendees are encouraged to bring the kids in their Halloween Costumes for Trick or Treating.

Advocacy

Nonprofits Don’t Have Big, Corporate PACs or Deep Lobbying Pockets—but We Do Have Each Other

Advocacy is how we protect our missions, secure resources, and push back against harmful policies. But this work doesn’t happen on its own. It’s powered by people like you.

Your support and membership fuels our ability to monitor legislation, mobilize quickly, and ensure nonprofits are heard—whether at the Capitol in Salt Lake City or on Capitol Hill in Washington.

🙏 If you're already a member—thank you!

👉 Not a member? Join UNA today—because advocacy isn’t free, but it’s worth every ounce of support.

👉 Not a Nonprofit? Donate to UNA—support the sector with your donation.
